Day 1 - November 22nd 2008, Saturday
Woke up late and poor hani-senpai who arrived the time appointed had to wait for me for over and hour. I started to not feel better and ushi got a headache. lied down for awhile and off to AFA '08. got my 2-days ticket and entered. greeted by GUNDAM00 Exia tall figurine.
old friend, Fida was there with her friend. Sorry girl, wasn't able to entertain you.
Went around everything and everything was so amazing. First up was the promotions of the current animes being shown around asia and Japan. Toradora, Casshern Sins, Code Geass: Lelouch The Rebellion, D.Gray-Man, Skip Beat, etc.
Walked around. Totally mesmerized by all the figurines and they are all so detailed. My favorite of all have to go to L of Death Note.
Sat down for the talk with Kunio Okawara, the GUNDAM Mechanical Designer and i tell you, the translator sucks. Prize giving for BAKUC Competition. the best of all was the special prize which was chosen by Kunio Okawara himself. although he didn't get to hong kong for the finals but being chosen by Kunio-san himself was such as honor.
Went off to get a drink and walked back asap for the screening of The Sky Crawlers trailer and interviews. Am so looking forward to the movie. Will be out on 27th November.
Ushi called after that. Told hani-senpai that we're just looking around and not do anything much but with ushi's call, we had to stay and waited for her.

Darker Than Black and Bleach are being promoted on Animax booth. as the 2 animes will be shown. 30th December '08 for Darker Than Black and next year for Bleach.
by the time ushi arrived, hani-senpai was queing for her poster to be autograph by Storyboard artist for Lamb, Yasufumi Soejima. while that was happening, the conversation i had with a Animax staff turns into me being interviewed by Animax. Nervous to the bone, holding the heavy mike, trembling. I answered happily. hahakz!
Went over to Encore Film booth and there we saw Detroit Metal City poster. we screaming like hell as he staffs just laughs. I asked if there's the dvd or... and the answer we got, "it'll be on theatre next year" ... another loud happy scream from us.. the staffs just laughed. happily joined their mailing list, we all received The Sky Crawlers poster.
off to 7-Eleven for dinner. Nissin Cup Noodle, ya'll!
Last minute, we ended up staying for Ichirou Mizuki stage gig. The King of Anime songs. yup! he's an old guy and none of the anime songs he sang are unknown to me. Before that there was a local band who sings japanese covers and I say they were quite good. the same time while we were waiting for Ichirou Mizuki to appear and the band playing, we made friend with a little boy was sitting just right beside me. Namae wa, Reio-kun desu!

Right after Ichirou Mizuki appeared, we stayed for awhile to watch his performance and I was so damn tired and thirsty but we had to company hani-senpai to the Bookfest which was just happening at the top floor.
Came back home and took medicines and I slept totally like a log.

Day 2 - November 23rd 2008, Sunday
Woken up by mom to prepare sandwiches to bring to AFA while she fry some begedil for us to bring too. but i lied back down and later i got up and ushi came into the room. she really woke up at the right time. went into her room and continue sleeping. after her shower, i told her to go ahead first while i'll come later. my head was really feeling heavy after the 10ml dose of cough syrup.
stayed in ushi's room after she left and mom came in waking me up. she has prepared the lettuces and tomatoes for me to prepare the sandwiches. by the time i woke up, mom and the rest had already left for wedding under void deck.
showered as soon possible and within 5mins, prepared the 3 sandwiched and packed the begedil. ushi smsed saying they're already at the front seats. i went as fast possible and good thing, the crowds was just starting to swell by the time i arrived. so there was no argument about the one-seat reserved.
there was a half-hour delay of the but it was all good and Cosplay Mania was great and funny. hani-senpai and ushi's "Kamenashi Kazuya" (of KAT-TUN) was even in the competition. He cosplayed as a different character though and his team was chosen by Ichirou Mizuki himself as the Special Category.
the last contestants, sigh. no comment. the judges weren't even looking and they were already busy looking into the papers and talking with each other. during that time, i took out my sandwich and ate it. i was really hungry.
Was looking forward to the screening of Genius Party Beyond - Jigen Bakudan and a talk session with Animation Director, Koji Morimoto. the 2 hosts told us there will be no screening which cause the crowd to roar but within minutes, miscommunications were cleared and thus the appearance of Koji Morimoto and the screening of Genius Party Beyond - Jigen Bakudan.
After the last question with Koji Morimoto, we head off to get a hot drink. the aircon got really cold and even the weather was cold. bough hot coffee and sat at the bus-stop to relax for awhile. almost to 6pm, went back up to AFA for May'n gig.
there were more cosplayers and there lots which really caught our eyes. the usual, i would ask the cosplayers if we could have their photo taken. ushi and hani-senpai will just wait with their cameras.
the best was, having a photo taken with a live-action GUNDAM00 Exia (this one on the left). a Cosplay of the gundam itself. it was like! COOL! yes, someone is inside wearing that GUNDAM suit.
walked around more to look for more cool-looking cosplayers and the same time, walking towards the stage. there was already a huge turnout. retreating to the 2nd floor where we had a good view. despite being far but it was a good view. Lots of fanboys everywhere. We could even see a guy jumping as high as possible as May'n sing and dance to one of her song.
after the gig, walked around a little bit more for the last look of AFA '08 and yes, the same time, looking out for both ugly and cool-looking cosplayers.
Went back home in an empty 857. uploaded the pictures and off to okto for Vexille.

Memoirs I brought back from AFA '08... Wang Liu Mei figurine (GUNDAM 00), Zoro keychain (One Piece) & Chopper keychain (One Piece). all won through the capsule box.
